2015 has been really busy for us all. Lots of lovely Farmers Markets and events. Our favourite again being the Dorset Seafood Festival on home turf in Weymouth.
As well as being out and about this year we've moved into brand new premises on Portland, so it was all hands to the deck!. We are opening the doors for you to visit us for some shellfishy delights on Sunday November 22nd 12pm – 4pm. DT5 1FD.
We've also incredibly chuffed to have received a few awards this year. A Gold Taste of the West and Category winner for our Classic Crab Cakes, a Great Taste Award for our Dressed Crab and a sustainability Gold Award from Pommery Champagne Dorset Seafood Festival.
We were also very excited about being Shellfish Heroes for the Dorset Magazine feature for the Dorset Seafood Festival and, if your quick you can still catch us on IPlayer with Terry and Masons Food Trip. Myself showing Terry how to dress a crab. Great fun was had by all.
Dorset Shellfish is owned by Caroline Drever, who runs the business with daughter Stef. They believe in providing quality shellfish and fish caught from her partner Grahams boat Marauder WH22 and other day boats working out of Weymouth. Graham fishes with son Karl, so a real family business.
The boys have again been working all hours for crab, lobster, whelk and line caught bass fishing. (No chance of taking it easy yet love!), and the way we fish is so sustainable that anything not large enough to land or the wrong species is returned to the sea unharmed.
We are very pleased to announce that we recently won Taste of the West GOLD award for our Classic Crab Cakes.
